About this SiteUKTP has a focus on UK Training Providers and the resources available to support staff, learners/candidates and customers. The idea is that most of the resources are free. There are several types of resources:
- Some you simply sign up on-line and use the resource, so no software downloads.
- Some you need to download the software and use it on a PC
- There are others that require you to have hosting space with online databases.
For example this website is hosted with HostMK.net for a small annual fee but the software to publish the site is free to put on the site and requires no web publishing knowledge. We are using Joomla.
SubDomains
We are using what is know as SubDomains for all the other sites as part of this network. A SubDomain is basically a web address in the following format.
- This is the main site www.uktp.net
- This is a subdomain www.blog.uktp.net
Some of the Subdomains used are simply being redirected to an on-line resource like Google Groups and others have an actual website published like our blog.
